VOYO teams up with Friend MTS to take on piracy and protect its streaming platform with premium sports

Friend MTS, the number one anti-piracy provider and video cybersecurity partner in entertainment, media and sports, today announced that VOYO, ProTV’s rapidly expanding streaming platform in Romania, has chosen to partner with Friend MTS to combat piracy and protect the value of its content investments in live sports, local content and VOD.

VOYO recently won the broadcast rights in Romania for the English Premier League (EPL). With backing from CME, VOYO has ambitious growth plans, built on investments in premium sports and locally produced fiction. To support this strategy, VOYO required a robust solution to combat piracy and protect the value of sports and media rights.

VOYO chose Friend MTS’ watermarking and global monitoring solutions for their proven effectiveness in fighting piracy, their technology excellence, and (its long-standing partnership with the EPL dating back to 2015). VOYO’s selected solution uses robust watermarking technology that overlays unique identifiers onto each stream, enabling precise tracking and identification of the source behind unauthorised redistribution. Real-time detection and rapid response capabilities make it easy for VOYO to swiftly identify and address illegal sharing across any platform.
