Friend MTS and AgileTV Complete CDN Watermarking Integration to Fast-Track Anti-Piracy Protection for Operators

Friend MTS, a leading global provider of content protection services, and AgileTV, a leading provider of end-to-end TV and video delivery solutions, today announced the successful completion of the first integration between the AgileTV CDN and Friend MTS' server-side watermarking solution. The joint solution is optimised to protect the highest value sports and entertainment content, combining speed with robustness and ensuring no impact on the quality of video service delivered.

The companies have integrated their technologies to operate as part of the same ecosystem: Friend MTS provides the core watermarking backend components, while the AgileTV CDN delivers watermarked streams for selected premium content. Together, the companies have defined a pre-integrated solution that ensures fastest time to market with low risk for operators.

Any operator running the AgileTV CDN can now deploy Friend MTS watermarking or vice versa. Combined with Friend MTS' piracy monitoring services, the joint solution enables end-to-end anti-piracy protection via the identification of individual accounts used to source pirated content. According to operator preference, rules can be defined and configured to enable these sources to be shut down in real time which is critical for live sports and premium content where every second counts.
